The unique movement of documents within the brokerage transaction cycle requires the understanding only DataServ can provide. For instance, in order for a client trade to occur: A new client must have opened an account, requiring a document which must be retained for when that client places a trade request. A trade ticket is issued for the order, a trade confirmation is generated and then a remittance document for the order is received. A statement typically follows, and that particular trade shows up on a variety of reports required by regulatory bodies such as the SEC. Each stage of that transaction creates a document which needs to be managed, each with a variety of potential uses and individual retention requirements, but all interrelated.

Brokerage Results

Working with Huntleigh Securities, DataServ found that trade confirmations were not reaching Huntleigh's customers until several days after execution of a trade. In order to improve client service, Huntleigh sought to provide their customers with access to trade confirmations on a daily basis via the web, with the ability to send email notifications and reminders. By acquiring and storing all of Huntleigh's trade confirmations and then pushing them out to the appropriate client at the appropriate time, DataServ enabled Huntleigh to provide their clients with more current information on their accounts. All of this client information is also available to Huntleigh clients via a transparent link to DataServ behind the Huntleigh web site. Our work with Huntleigh also includes the capture, management and archival of reports needed to remain in compliance with all SEC and NASD regulations.
